You’re only 15 minutes away via public transport from the very centre of Paris, with the famous Left Bank and all its trendy cafés. We recommend a tour of the catacombs and a stroll along the streets of the Latin Quarter. If you’re stumped for ideas, although that’s unlikely, the team will be happy to give you some tips.
At JO&JOE, we love the idea of sharing blank canvases with artists. Hence our rooms are filled in with these special atmospheres, made possible by our amazing street artists.
The art of dreaming - Olivier Bonhomme finds his inspiration through « symbolist pop surrealism ». His idea was to make people travel towards dreamlike universes, tainted with poetry, in which everyone can find his own interpretation.
Against usual aesthetic - Fascinated by mural painting, Marina Capdevila's style aims to break the codes of traditional aesthetics. Her intention is to show that having fun has no age at JO&JOE and therefore, she portrays elderly people, full of vitality.
Street Art - Rik Lee's creations are defined by the contrast between the use of pencil and the incorporation of bright colors. All marked by what the artist loves in life: skateboarding, music and underground culture.
Abstract Art - Very inspired by the symbols and patterns of ancient civilizations, his creations are marked by decorative calligraphic forms, in the image of nature and spirituality. The purpose of his works is to be the object of conversations, questions, and therefore exchanges: a vision that JO&JOE rightly shares.
Multicolored travel - Through his artworks influenced by shamanism, ancient myths and primitive arts, he seeks to represent the "unconscious dream" and invites you to a multicolored and abstract journey. At JO&JOE, he does more than just dress up a place to live.
The aestheticism of graffiti - His art is above all driven by aestheticism and by hijacking any place to make it come alive. By adapting to the environment on which he must paint, he has been led to exploit the Milky Way to match the subdued atmosphere of the corridors at the JO&JOE.
Exploration through Art - His art is strongly characterised by the use of a symbol: the labyrinth. The recurrence of this symbol gives free rein to the exploration of the unconscious, to the discovery of the most buried dreams and especially to an exploration of all possibilities.
Creative freedom - At a very young age, he developed a passion for drawing which led him to begin his experience as an independent artist allowing him to explore and implement his ideas freely. And it is precisely the freedom of ideas that characterizes his work and allows him to give no limits to new inspirations.
Free interpretation - Difuz loves to tell stories and it is this creative mark that he has brought to JO&JOE. His style is figurative and features characters that regularly appear in his creations, but in different situations. He does not seek to spread a particular message, but rather to leave each one free to interpret his works.
